In July 2021, podcast hosts and guests highlighted psychological themes in literature, survival narratives, and political philosophy. On the Huberman Lab podcast, Andrew Huberman and Lex Fridman discussed Hermann Hesse's novel Narcissus and Goldmund, examining its themes regarding the interplay between the logical rational mind and the emotional mind. Huberman also referenced Sam Sheridan's book The Fighter's Mind.
