Get the older copy not the for the internet because i think the for the internet was written like 98 or 99 and the examples are really funny but get the older version positioning by the same authors.

I really loved Al Reese's and Jack Trout's book on positioning it's a really wonderful book about how people see it's a book about marketing strategy more than that actually it's just it's a book about strategy and and how people see the world and how people see products and how you present products and how you see your own.

And and I'm kind of like thinking I'm going to reread that. I've read that and I've read Positioning by the way, even though they come highly recommended. I actually did not think either was great.

Why people recommend it

Positioning by Al Ries and Jack Trout is a classic marketing and corporate strategy book that explores how people perceive the world, view products, and how companies can effectively frame their messaging. Jensen Huang recommended the title on The Ezra Klein Show as a thoughtful work on strategy and product presentation. Tim Ferriss also recommended the book on The Tim Ferriss Show, specifically advising readers to seek out the older editions rather than the internet-era updates for their humorous examples. On Timcast IRL, John Schnatter mentioned reading the book to learn how to differentiate a product using a slogan. Meanwhile, Shaan Puri discussed the work on My First Million after it was recommended by Aaron Levie, though he offered a personal critique noting that he did not ultimately find the book to be great.

“And the first book that he said was a book called Positioning by this guy named Al Trout, I think his name is. Um I think he also wrote the 22 immutable laws of marketing”
