Keith Rabois is an American technology executive and investor. He is a managing director at Khosla Ventures and a co-founder of Opendoor. He was an early-stage startup investor, and executive, at PayPal, LinkedIn, and Square, and he invested in Yelp and the Xoom Corporation prior to each company's initial public offering while insisting on board membership. Across several podcast appearances on This Week in Startups, Rabois recommended and discussed several notable books. He frequently recommended Elad Gil's High Growth Handbook, highlighting a full chapter he contributed to the book that detailed his views on why and when founders should take companies public as early as possible. He also endorsed David Sinclair's book Lifespan during a discussion about anti-aging, noting the author's argument that aging is a preventable disease and his endorsement of taking metformin. When discussing international affairs and security, Rabois noted that Jacob Helberg used a specific interview in his book The Wires of War. In addition to recommendations, Rabois referenced various literary and historical works during his discussions. He used Mario Puzo's novel The Godfather to discuss intellectual property laws regarding derivative works, brought up The Federalist Papers to explain why the founders feared politicians promising public money to win votes, and cited Pat Riley's book The Winner Within as an inspirational read from his high school years.
