Why people recommend it
Daring Young Men by Richard Reeves is a sociology and parenting book that examines the structural challenges, employment struggles, and educational disparities facing modern boys and men. On The Book Review, Ryan Holiday recommended the work as an insightful parenting book for Father's Day, drawing parallels to discussions about male crises. Holiday also noted in The Daily Stoic show notes that signed copies could be purchased at The Painted Porch. On The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett, Paul Brunson referenced the book to highlight alarming levels of unemployment among men. Chris Williamson frequently promoted the book on Modern Wisdom, telling guests like David Geary, Stephen J. Shaw, and Scott Galloway that it is a concise, highly recommended read of roughly 150 to 200 pages that tackles the societal pressures and struggles young men currently encounter. In addition, Jonathan Haidt cited the publication on The Mel Robbins Podcast while discussing statistical data concerning wealthy families, growing class divides, and declining academic performance among boys. Dr. Leonard Sax also brought up the volume on The Megyn Kelly Show to analyze empirical data showing how boys are consistently falling behind in schools across America today.
