The best things said about it
In fact, one of my favorite beach reads was Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, which takes you to the top of Mount Everest.
I thought what which is about a bunch of people who climb Mount Everest as as sort of amateurs and push themselves to the limit. Some of them don't come back. Some of them are damaged irrevocably. It's it's a tragic book, but part of the tragedy is like, why?
There's a famous book that's written about it where eleven people die and right in this moment it's called the Death Zone where you enter above 26,000 feet.
Colin O'Brady The Joe Rogan Experience · Feb 2019 Apparently, so that that guy John Crackour who had the whole in a thin air thing, he wrote that book being like nobody should do this.

Why people recommend it
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer is a gripping and tragic non-fiction account detailing the author's harrowing participation in the disastrous 1996 Mount Everest climbing expedition that resulted in the deaths of several climbers. Russ Roberts repeatedly recommended the book on EconTalk, calling it an extraordinary and tragic read that raises profound questions about extreme risk-taking and human limits. Annie Duke also discussed the book on EconTalk and The Jordan Harbinger Show, using the climb and the decisions made by expedition leader Rob Hall to analyze high-stakes decision-making and the psychological difficulty of quitting when people are heavily invested. Chris Williamson brought up Krakauer's work on Modern Wisdom to explore the inherent dangers of attempting to climb Everest, while Elisabeth Egan cited the book on The Book Review as one of her favorite suspenseful beach reads. Colin O'Brady discussed the book on The Joe Rogan Experience, referencing the fatal dangers of entering the high-altitude Death Zone. Additionally, Shaan Puri and Noah Kagan briefly touched upon the book on My First Million while discussing gripping outdoor adventure narratives.
