Burmese Days
Burmese Days by George Orwell is a novel that draws heavily on the author's experiences as a colonial police officer in British Burma, critiquing the corrupting nature of imperialism.
Discussed“Orwell reflected on this in his novel Burmese days saying in the 18th century the Indians cast guns that were at any rate up to the European standard. Now after we've been in India 150 years you can't make so much as a brass cartridge case in the whole continent.”
