Books with sudden spikes in podcast mentions

A spike is a month when a book suddenly came up far more than usual: at least 5 episodes on at least 3 different shows, and at least 4 times its average for the previous 12 months. There have been 6 since January 2024. The latest is Bible in September 2026. When a public event happened around the same time, we note it with a source. We do not guess at reasons.

Data through Oct 29, 2026.

How we count

We count episodes, not mentions. If a book comes up ten times in one conversation, that episode counts once. Ad reads, self promotion and passing name drops are left out. Because we add podcasts over time, we compare rates (episodes per 1,000 episodes we cover in the same period) instead of raw totals, and a podcast only enters a comparison once we have covered it for the whole period. Only books with a full page on this site are ranked. Every number on this page updates when new episodes come in. Full definitions.
