Why people recommend it
Where Am I Now? by Mara Wilson is a collection of personal essays detailing the author's experiences growing up as a child star and navigating the peculiar realities of early fame. Robert Evans enthusiastically recommended the book during an episode of Behind the Bastards, officially titling it Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame. At the conclusion of the episode, Evans encouraged his listeners to look up Mara Wilson's excellent publication, praising her established work both as a talented author and as an engaging audiobook narrator. Beyond a straightforward reading recommendation, Evans humorously wove the endorsement into the show's signature closing remarks, directing his audience's attention toward Wilson's literary contributions while maintaining the irreverent comedic tone characteristic of the podcast. Through these remarks, the host directed public awareness toward Wilson's reflective storytelling and her unique perspectives on youth, media culture, and the transition away from child stardom.
