Nature Writing by Robert Finch and John Elder is an acclaimed anthology that showcases the finest literary works focused on the natural world and environmental observation. During an appearance on The Tim Ferriss Show in August 2022, specifically on episode six hundred eighteen featuring investor Roelof Botha and titled Investing with the Best, Ulysses Pacts, The Magic of Founders, the book was highlighted as a notable literary resource. Guest Roelof Botha mentioned the title while discussing various habits, influences, and items of personal significance during the extensive interview. Botha identified the publication as part of an annual series focusing on America's best science and nature writing, noting that it holds a special place in his reading habits. Furthermore, Botha revealed that this ongoing series represents one of the primary titles he frequently chooses to purchase and gift to other people. The recommendation shed light on the guest's intellectual interests outside the venture capital realm, offering listeners a thoughtful suggestion for engaging with high-quality prose dedicated to science and the natural environment through a well-curated annual collection.
