Did you ever read Murder Machine? No. Murder Machine is about Roy Deo, who is a famous hitman, murderer, copo character in the mob. People who are like mob historians are probably mad at me right now, but it's a book that Joey Diaz gave me and it's you can't put it down. You start reading it, you can't put.

Why people recommend it
Murder Machine by Gene Mustain and Jerry Capeci is a true crime book detailing the horrific crimes of mob hitman Roy DeMeo and his crew. Joe Rogan repeatedly discussed the book across several episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience, mentioning that fellow comedian Joey Diaz originally gave it to him and noting that readers literally cannot put it down once they start. Rogan referenced the terrifying details of Roy DeMeo and his brutal methods with various guests, including Sam Morril, Adam Sandler, and Stavros Halkias. Greg Fitzsimmons also brought up the book on The Joe Rogan Experience after receiving the recommendation from Joey Diaz, using it to dive into stories about notorious mafia killers. Kyle Dunnigan joined the discussion on the same podcast to note how terrifying and amazing the true crime account is, while TJ English and Joey Diaz previously talked about the specifics of the DeMeo crew on an earlier installment. Joey Diaz himself briefly acknowledged receiving and discussing the book with Joe Rogan. Across these podcast appearances, the speakers focused heavily on the shocking violence and compelling nature of the historical mafia narrative.
