Jim Gaffigan · This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von · Jul 2023 Listen at 1:03:36 Why people recommend it
Man Bites Dog is a darkly satirical Belgian mockumentary film directed by Remy Belvaux, Andre Bonzel, and Beno't Poelvoorde that follows a brutal serial killer. Jim Gaffigan discussed the film during an appearance on This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von in episode number four hundred fifty-three, released on July eighteenth, 2023. While conversing with host Theo Von, Gaffigan brought up the motion picture unexpectedly while they were exploring the dark absurdity often found within documentaries and true crime media. Without offering an extensive plot summary, Gaffigan simply remarked that the movie was great, using it as a touchstone to comment on the bizarre and unsettling nature of certain cinematic projects that blur the lines between reality and horror. His brief mention highlighted the enduring cultural footprint of the provocative dark comedy among comedians who appreciate boundary-pushing artistic expressions in film.
