Howard Zinn books are always on high school curricula. It's the most p um history book and it's absolute horshit. But and I've written about this a million times. It's just bad history, but it's the right history because it's directionally the right history.
The best things said about it
And she was talking all about how at her leftist New York City private school, they loved Howard Zinn. That's all they used to teach the kids history. That guy hates America. So, this this series, as I see it, is sort of the antidote to Howard Zinn. It's the opposite of what Howard Zinn is teaching our kids.
Megyn Kelly The Megyn Kelly Show · Jan 2026 Why people recommend it
Howard Zinn on History by Howard Zinn is a widely discussed historical work that examines the American past through a critical lens and has long maintained a prominent presence in educational settings. The book came under scrutiny during multiple episodes of The Megyn Kelly Show. In early 2026, Megyn Kelly brought up Howard Zinn while discussing leftist history education within New York City private schools, recounting how a guest described the curriculum as heavily reliant on Zinn's perspectives, which the host argued were hostile toward America and represented by counter-programming series. Similarly, Michael Moynihan joined the podcast in August 2025 to discuss similar themes, pointing out that Howard Zinn books are a staple of high school curricula. Moynihan characterized the text as poor and inaccurate history that persists because it aligns directionally with a specific ideological framework. Across these conversations, the speakers critically analyzed the enduring cultural footprint and educational dominance of the text in shaping modern historical perspectives among young students.

“I feel like if Howard Zinn had been immortal and was around today like writing and writing a new book, it'd be like a Larry Ellison Oracle lobbyist trying to replace Steny Hoyer in Southern Maryland.”
