Palmer Luckey · The Shawn Ryan Show · Feb 2025 Listen at 15:19 Why people recommend it
Civilian Warriors by Erik Prince provides an inside look at the rise of private military contractors, detailing the founding and operations of Blackwater and the modern privatized security industry. Palmer Luckey discussed the book during an appearance on The Shawn Ryan Show in February 2025, on an episode titled Superhuman Soldiers, AI Missiles and Exoskeletons in War. In the middle of a wide-ranging conversation about modern defense technology, artificial intelligence, and military hardware, Palmer Luckey casually referenced Erik Prince's work. Without providing an extensive review or lengthy analysis, he specifically advised the audience to read the book, telling listeners that they should of course read Civilian Warriors to better understand the landscape of modern military contracting and the operational realities faced by private soldiers in contemporary conflict zones.
