If I'm not mistaken, um there's a really fantastic series on HBO was called Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee that was based on a book of the same name. And it was about um just the conflict between, you know, like it was with uh Sitting Bull.

Why people recommend it

Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown is a deeply influential historical book that chronicles the systematic displacement, broken treaties, and forced assimilation of Native American tribes in the American West through the perspective of the indigenous peoples. On Stuff They Don't Want You To Know, Matt Frederick discussed the tribal conflicts and forced assimilation era while mentioning the book and its acclaimed television adaptation. Pamela Paul brought up the famous 1970 work on The Book Review during a broader conversation about indigenous history and related literary titles. On The Joe Rogan Experience, S.C. Gwynne referenced Brown's narrative to contrast the standard historical view of Native Americans strictly as victims of a westward-rolling empire with the specific dominance and history of tribes like the Comanches. Finally, Christopher Ryan also discussed the book on The Joe Rogan Experience, praising it as a beautiful and compelling examination of the final historical chapters concerning various North American indigenous tribes.
