It is very rare to read a book by anyone that's as honest and reflective and raw as this one is.

The best things said about it
One of my favorite books that I've read recently was Burn Rate.
This book is intense, it is super deep and he's very open and honest about his experience living with bipolar one disorder.
And so the book is the product of having a really good therapist to like unpack my life with and rebuild myself with you know coming out of this um second manic episode hospitalization 2016.
Why people recommend it
Burn Rate by Andy Dunn is a memoir and business book by the Bonobos founder detailing his journey building a startup while living with bipolar one disorder and experiencing severe mental health crises. The book was prominently featured and recommended on This Week in Startups. Molly Wood expressed high praise for the work, calling it one of her favorite recent reads and commending the author for writing a remarkably honest, raw, and reflective book about the realities of mental illness and leadership. During an interview episode, the host and Andy Dunn discussed the intense nature of the book, which was shaped by extensive therapy following Dunn's second manic episode and subsequent hospitalization in 2016. Dunn explained that the book serves as a way to rebuild himself and unpack his life experiences, including the immense pressures of entrepreneurship. They discussed specific leadership mistakes and challenges highlighted in the book, such as attempting to scale a software company out of a pants company and enduring a terrifying recurrence of mental health struggles during tense acquisition negotiations with Walmart just weeks before his wedding. The host closed the segment by praising Dunn's vulnerability and strongly encouraging all listeners to read the book to take away crucial support and lessons regarding CEO mental health and founder well-being.
