Joe Rogan The Joe Rogan Experience · Apr 2015 Why people recommend it
Bigfoot by Virginia Loh-Hagan is part of an unconventional and surprisingly popular genre of novelty romance and erotica novels centered around cryptozoology. The book and its surrounding subgenre were discussed during two episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience. In a September 2026 episode featuring Ehsan Ahmad and Deric Poston, Deric Poston brought up the Come for Bigfoot book series, expressing bewilderment at the vast number of volumes and the unexpected, crazy popularity of these erotic monster books. The host had previously referenced the series during an August 2019 episode with Annie Lederman, jokingly citing a high-numbered entry in the franchise to mock the prolific and improvised nature of such niche pulp fiction. Both podcast segments used the bizarre literary phenomenon to comedic effect, highlighting the strange corners of self-publishing and the internet subcultures that consume outlandish monster erotica. Despite the humorous treatment, the mentions accurately reflected the existence of a thriving, tongue-in-cheek publishing trend that merges romance tropes with cryptid folklore to entertain curious readers.
