Why people recommend it
American Predator by Maureen Callahan is a detailed true crime investigation into the life and crimes of serial killer Israel Keyes. The book was discussed on The Megyn Kelly Show in May 2026, where Megyn Kelly introduced Callahan by highlighting her exhaustive investigative work that exposed one of the most meticulous serial killers of the modern era. During the segment, Callahan detailed how her book contains the complete, unredacted text of Keyes's confessions, noting that the FBI has never made those specific files publicly available. Callahan and Kelly returned to the book in June 2024 during a discussion regarding political figures, wherein Kelly informed listeners that her team had reached out to RFK Jr. to address specific allegations documented within Callahan's reporting. Furthermore, Kelly highlighted how Callahan's text meticulously documents historical controversies, such as the troubling incident involving Ted Kennedy leaving a woman to die in a car accident, providing thorough insight into the documented events.
