Why people recommend it
Almanac and Weather Forecaster by Eric Sloane is a reference work focused on meteorology and nature observation. On the podcast Modern Wisdom (Insights From History's Greatest Thinkers - David Senra - #566, 2022-12-17), David Senra discussed various literary works and mentioned that he frequently gives Eric Jorgensen's almanac away as a gift to others. Although the title references Eric Jorgensen, the discussion highlighted how central these types of informative and foundational books are to his routine of sharing knowledge with people. Senra emphasized the value of these materials during his appearance, noting his habit of purchasing and distributing them widely. The conversation underscored the practical appeal of the almanac as a thoughtful and educational present for readers interested in weather patterns and traditional forecasting methods, aligning with Senra's broader passion for historical and instructional texts that offer deep, enduring insights into human enterprise, environment, and everyday observations gathered across generations.
