Why people recommend it
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik is a dark fantasy novel set in a lethal magical academy where survival depends on resourcefulness and raw power rather than traditional heroics. Brad Barrett recommended the book during an episode of the ChooseFI podcast titled 428 | Fees, Frugality, and 401K Fears, which was released on March 13, 2023. During the show's recommendation segment, Brad Barrett shared that he is a massive fan of fantasy novels in general and explained that he had recently been referred to Naomi Novik's work. He noted that A Deadly Education serves as the gripping first installment of a projected trilogy, drawing listeners into its unique and unforgiving magical world. His enthusiastic endorsement provides a brief departure from personal finance topics, showcasing the hosts' varied reading interests and offering fantasy enthusiasts a compelling new addition to their reading lists.
